Inner Ridged Tube
(is called Inner Grooved Tube or Inner Finned Tube) is an internally grooved tube designed primarily for direct expansion water chillers. Direct water chillers are used for air conditioning applications wherein water is cooled on the outside of the tube by refrigerant boiling and expanding on the inside.
Inner Ridged Tube is normally supplied in straight lengths and draw temper for easy insertion into the tube bundles.
Inner Ridged Tube has 1.5 to 2 times the average inside heat transfer coefficient of the same plain tube.
Plain end is manufactured as the requirement of customers.

Under proper conditions, corrugated tube can provide superior heat transfer performance and less tubeside pressure drop than ordinary plain tubes with ID turbulence devices. The integral corrugations are produced without thinning the wall, and the minimum wall of the starting tube is uniform for the entire lenght of tube. Also, the OD of the corrugated section is the same as the plain end OD.
